Students are encouraged to wear Orange shirts to school to support the Indigenous community.
Orange Shirt Day officially began in 2013, as a way to bring light to the injustices faced by survivors of Canada’s residential school system. The orange shirt symbolizes how the residential school system took away the identities and culture of its students.
